Building the embedded intelligence and sensor fusion layer that turns raw vessel signals into a live picture Co-Captain can act on. With over 8 years across embedded systems and autonomous robotics, his path runs from instrumentation and control engineering at power and LNG plants in Peru to autonomous robotics research in Germany, first at TU Ilmenau and now at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. That experience is field-hardened rather than lab-bound, built in outdoor environments where lighting, connectivity, and hardware all fight back, which is close to the condition set at sea. At Pollentia, Andy focuses on sensor fusion, edge performance, and the onboard software that keeps Co-Captain running.
